About PROTECT3D

PROTECT3D is rethinking how medical devices are designed and delivered. Our mission is to bring the scale of off-the-shelf to the comfort and effectiveness of custom using advanced CAD, automation, and machine learning to create better outcomes for patients and clinicians.

This is an 8 to 10 week unpaid program starting in late May. Exact dates are flexible based on the candidate. Hourly expectations are in the 20 to 40 hours per week range.

Course credit is available depending on school requirements.

Open Positions

CAD Automation Engineer
As a CAD Automation Engineer Intern, you will work at the intersection of parametric design, geometry, and machine learning. You will first operate, and then help develop automated CAD systems that generate product variations at scale, contributing directly to machine learning training data and production workflows. This role is ideal for someone excited about computational design, automation, and applying engineering rigor to real-world medical products.
Software Engineering (iOS / Web)
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will help build and improve the tools that power PROTECT3D's internal workflows and customer-facing products. Depending on your background and interests, you will focus on either iOS development or web and backend development. This role is ideal for someone who wants to work on real systems used daily by engineers, clinicians, and operations teams.
Biomedical Product Engineer
As a Product Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our product team to research, prototype, and iterate on new and existing product lines. You will help bridge engineering, design, and market needs and contribute directly to how products are conceived and launched. This role is ideal for someone interested in product development, medical devices, and early-stage innovation.
Marketing and Brand Designer
As a Marketing and Brand Design Intern, you will help shape how PROTECT3D looks, feels, and communicates. You will design internal and external-facing assets that support our brand, communicate new products, and help tell the story of how custom medical devices can scale. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys visual design, clear communication, and working closely with product and engineering teams to translate complex ideas into compelling visuals.
Software Product Designer (iOS / Web)
As a Product Design Intern, you will work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to design intuitive iOS and web application experiences. You will take product requirements and user needs and translate them into thoughtful, usable interface designs. This role is ideal for someone interested in UX and UI design who enjoys understanding users, defining problems clearly, and designing clean, functional product experiences.
